A woman found along the Willamette River near Northwest Naito Parkway remains unidentified months after her death, and Multnomah County officials are asking Portlanders for help. The medical examiner’s office released a sketch and basic clothing description Wednesday in hopes someone recognizes her.
According to KATU, the woman was found on the west side of the river and is believed to have been between 43 and 84 years old. Officials describe her as white, between 4 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 4 inches tall, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, black leggings and black sweatpants.
Officials Release Clothing Details In Identification Push
The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office said the woman was found in the riverbank area near Northwest Naito Parkway. Anyone who may know her identity is asked to call 503-988-0055 and reference case MU-260410-28.
The county’s unidentified-persons program says investigators may use fingerprints, dental records, facial recognition, forensic anthropology and DNA to confirm a person’s identity. Cases are also entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, which can help connect an unidentified decedent with missing-person reports, according to Multnomah County.
