Yesterday morning in Pleasant Grove turned violent when a woman and a juvenile were shot in southeast Dallas. Dallas police say officers were called at about 5:13 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 6800 block of Kennison Drive. The wounded woman and child were taken by private vehicle to a local hospital, where both are expected to survive. A 20-year-old man was later arrested in connection with the case.
According to FOX 4, police arrested 20-year-old Jose Bacca Hernandez and charged him with failure to report a felony, a Class A misdemeanor. The incident was logged under case number 109019-2026, and detectives say the investigation is still active.
Per the Dallas Police Department, officers were dispatched after a gunfire call, and investigators are now canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance video. The department has asked anyone with information or footage to contact the Homicide Unit or Crime Stoppers.
