Shoppers between Winter Haven and Auburndale are about to get a new go-to grocery stop, with Publix set to open a nearly 55,000-square-foot supermarket in the Mariana Acres shopping center on Brookstone Road. The prototype store is scheduled to start serving customers on Thursday and will feature an in-store pharmacy along with an adjacent liquor outlet. The location will take over for the older Auburndale Publix a short drive away, adding to a busy local run of new store openings this year.
New Mariana Acres Store Details
According to Publix, the store is listed at 1075 Brookstone Road and currently appears online as "Coming Soon." ClickOrlando reports the Winter Haven site covers just under 55,000 square feet and is set to open on Thursday, July 16. Publix lists the standard departments, including bakery, deli and produce, along with a drive-thru pharmacy and wine and beer options.
Auburndale Store Replacement And County Rollout
As reported by The Ledger, the Mariana Acres supermarket will replace the current Auburndale location at 606 Havendale Blvd. The Ledger and other local coverage note that this is the fourth new Publix announced in Polk County this year, a clear sign the Lakeland-based chain is tightening its footprint in its home county.
What Shoppers Can Expect
Shoppers should expect opening-week crowds and some traffic shifts around the Mariana Acres center, along with more convenient pharmacy access for residents who live between Winter Haven and Auburndale. The move follows a steady summer rollout of Publix stores across Central Florida, including a June opening in Winter Haven, according to a Publix newsroom release, which the company says reflects continued investment in its home region.
