The National Weather Service expects sunny skies Thursday with south-southwest winds between 3 and 8 mph. Temperatures should climb quickly from the 60s in the morning to the mid 90s by late afternoon, with no rain in sight and a clear overnight low near 61 degrees.
The forecast is a sharper turn toward triple digits than the earlier outlook covered by Hoodline. Friday’s high is now expected to reach 100 degrees, while Saturday rises to 102 and Sunday to 103.
Triple Digits Hold Through Early Next Week
Monday is currently projected to be the hottest day, with a high near 104 degrees, before temperatures ease slightly to 101 Tuesday and 99 Wednesday. Nights will be clear but only moderately cooler, with lows generally in the mid 60s to upper 60s.
Afternoon winds will remain mostly light, generally staying below 10 mph in Sacramento. That means little natural relief during the hottest part of the day, when outdoor work, exercise and errands will feel most punishing.
