Four people inside a South River Gardens home had a near miss early Thursday after multiple rounds were fired outside, striking the house in an overnight shooting that rattled a quiet stretch of Sandys Lane in southwest Atlanta.
The home was hit several times and showed visible damage, but no one inside was hurt. Neighbors were left on edge as officers swarmed the scene in the dark overnight hours.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Atlanta police said the gunfire erupted around midnight, with shots coming from a corner adjacent to the residence. Investigators collected 14 shell casings at the scene and turned them in as evidence. The department described the case as highly active as detectives fan out through the area looking for witnesses, surveillance footage, or any hint of a lead.
