What started as a dispute inside a south Memphis corner store on Sunday ended with a customer racing to the hospital with gaping wounds, and a father and son in handcuffs on attempted second-degree murder charges, according to police.
Authorities say the man was slashed and beaten inside the shop, suffering severe injuries to his neck and torso. He was rushed to the regional medical center for emergency treatment and remains under care, police said.

Investigators say surveillance video from inside the store shows a confrontation between the customer and 36-year-old Ahmed Elzofri that quickly spiraled out of control. Police allege Ahmed cut the man’s neck while Mousa Elzofri hit him with a wooden stick.
Officers say they recovered a wooden table leg and a carpet knife stained with blood at the scene. The victim later arrived at the emergency room with what medical staff described as a neck laceration running “ear to ear,” along with six additional cuts to his abdomen and chest.
Both Ahmed and Mousa were charged with attempted second-degree murder. According to police, Ahmed is being held without bond, while Mousa is jailed on a $75,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, as reported by WREG.
