A narcotics-unit investigation in St. Bernard Parish ended with two men in custody this week after deputies said they uncovered drugs, a stolen pickup and altered vehicle identification. Authorities booked 32-year-old Kordell Moore on Wednesday and 23-year-old Mark Onidas on Thursday following traffic stops in Violet and Poydras, according to the sheriff’s office.
How deputies say the stops unfolded
According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office, narcotics-unit agents first pulled over a white Buick SUV on the 1900 block of Goodwill Street in Poydras. Deputies arrested Onidas after finding a switched license plate and suspected narcotics.
Investigators then tracked down a silver GMC Sierra on the 2400 block of Colonial Boulevard in Violet that had been reported stolen in New Orleans. Deputies said the truck carried fraudulent VIN stickers and switched tags. When Moore was taken into custody, they added, he was wearing a GPS ankle monitor.
Charges and bond
“The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office arrested two men on narcotics, stolen vehicle and switched license plate charges,” the agency wrote in its post. The office’s Facebook statement outlined possession-with-intent and distribution counts against Onidas, along with multiple narcotics and vehicle-alteration charges for Moore.

Past arrests and context
Moore has been arrested in St. Bernard before. Local coverage from 2019 shows he was booked following a traffic stop on possession-with-intent charges and an illegal-possession-of-a-stolen-firearm count, a case that highlighted issues investigators have continued to see in the parish.
