A man was stabbed near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Tuesday, and a suspect is now in custody after what authorities describe as a swift response in a busy transit corridor.
The victim was transported to a hospital with injuries that Phoenix Fire described as not life threatening. According to KTAR, Phoenix police responded on Tuesday to a report of a stabbing near the intersection of 24th Street and Jefferson Street. Officers found a man matching the suspect description and took him into custody without incident, the station reports.
KTAR also reports that the suspect was transported to a hospital as a precaution, according to the Phoenix Police Department. The victim suffered at least one stab wound and was treated on scene before being taken to the hospital, per Phoenix Fire.

The stabbing happened at 24th Street and Jefferson Street, several blocks north of the airport terminals and close to Valley Metro’s 24th St/Jefferson light rail stop.
