Early Sunday in Athens, a quiet apartment complex turned into a crime scene after a stray bullet tore into a unit and hit a woman inside, sending her to the hospital in the middle of the night.
Officers arrived at the Rolling Ridge Drive complex just after 2 a.m. and found gunfire had damaged multiple apartments. The woman who was struck suffered injuries police described as non-life-threatening and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, officers determined an argument outside the building sent stray bullets into several nearby units. As of the latest update, authorities had not released any suspect descriptions and the investigation was still underway.
