Three men were stabbed overnight inside a long-abandoned school in north St. Louis, leaving one critically injured and two others hospitalized in stable condition. Police detained multiple other people found inside the building, but were not looking for suspects as of Thursday morning. The violence unfolded at a property that has sat empty for decades.
According to First Alert 4, officers responding to the school at 15th Street and Carr Street found an adult man suffering from multiple stab wounds. A continued search of the building turned up two more men with less severe injuries, and all three were taken to hospitals.
The location is the former Carr School, a 1908 school building that has long stood vacant in the Carr Square neighborhood, according to Built St. Louis. St. Louis' property database identifies the surrounding parcel as part of Carr Square, just north of downtown, per the City of St. Louis.
What Police Have Not Said
The initial report did not identify the injured men or explain what sparked the confrontation. It also did not say whether any charges had been filed, while police indicated they were not seeking additional suspects at that time, First Alert 4 reported.
