A routine Monday afternoon in rural Brown County turned tragic when a tree limb fell on a woman’s head in Linden Township, killing her despite frantic efforts by first responders to save her, authorities said.
The emergency call came in around 2:40 p.m. along 112th Avenue in rural Brown County. First responders reached the scene and performed CPR and other life-saving measures, but the woman could not be revived.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office told KSTP that deputies arrived to find the woman with fatal injuries. The office did not say how the branch came down or what she was doing at the time.
Investigators are treating the case as a death investigation while the medical examiner reviews the circumstances. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is expected to release the woman's identity and the official cause of death after the review is complete.
