Pizza fans inside the Perimeter are finally getting their shot at Varuni Napoli. The Neapolitan pizzeria from chef Luca Varuni is set to open a new outpost at High Street next Wednesday, marking the brand’s third Atlanta-area location and its first inside the Perimeter, bringing wood-fired pies and Southern Italian plates to the development’s growing dining scene.
Opening day and what's on the menu
According to WhatNow, Varuni Napoli plans to open next Wednesday at High Street and will feature an open kitchen, a covered patio, a private chef’s room and a takeout window. Eater Atlanta previously reported the High Street space will span nearly 3,000 square feet and that the menu will include signature pies such as the Margherita and the Maradona, along with imported ingredients and a curated wine list.
What High Street is building
High Street is a multi-phase, mixed-use district developed by GID pegged at roughly $2 billion that will include office space, a hotel, retail, entertainment and about 3,000 residential units. GID and the development’s directory list national and local tenants already operating at the project, including Nando’s PERi-PERi, Velvet Taco, Puttshack, The Hampton Social, Agave Bandido and Cuddlefish.
Varuni's Atlanta footprint
Chef Luca Varuni opened the original Varuni Napoli in Midtown in 2014 and added a Krog Street Market outpost in 2017, steadily building a loyal following for blistered, thin-crusted Neapolitan pies. As Eater Atlanta noted, the High Street move tracks with a broader trend of city restaurants expanding outside the I-285 perimeter to reach suburban customers.
