That shifts the income ceiling to $23,475 for a single person and $31,725 for a two-person household, according to the Las Vegas Review‑Journal. With the higher limits, more seniors can now qualify for rebates on franchise taxes tacked onto NV Energy, CenturyLink/Cox Communications and Southwest Gas bills. The Las Vegas Review‑Journal also notes that the City Council updated the municipal code so the income cutoffs are now directly linked to federal poverty guidelines.
How to apply
The City of Las Vegas says seniors can submit new applications for rebates on 2025 utility and sewer charges from Aug. 1 through Oct. 15, 2026. Applicants must bring copies of all 2025 local utility bills, photo identification, proof of income and proof they have paid those bills.
