According to the outlet, Besto is slated to serve counter-service Italian sandwiches and salads at lunch, then shift to a full-service American Italian dinner menu featuring dishes like eggplant parmesan and chicken Milanese. The fast flip will lean on new signage and decor rather than a major kitchen overhaul, the report notes.
Co-founder Ian Jones told Rough Draft Atlanta that Decatur’s “demographic has changed” and that “it is no longer an affordable place for people in their early 20s and 30s to live,” a shift he said helped drive the pivot. He added that the rebrand is meant to keep “reasonable dine-in and to-go” options on the block while aligning the concept more closely with Church Street’s increasingly family-oriented crowd.
