First responders were called to the park just after 8 p.m. Thursday, arriving to find the young man badly injured in a field where he had reportedly just been playing soccer before a fight broke out.
According to AZ Family, Phoenix police say multiple people attacked the teenager and then left the scene before officers arrived. He was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in extremely critical condition. No arrests have been announced, and the investigation into what sparked the fight is ongoing.

The campus was built adjacent to the park in 2020, according to construction records tied to the project, placing a busy youth-focused school directly next to the site of Thursday night's violence.
