Witnesses told investigators at least 20 shots were exchanged, turning a parking lot on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard into a homicide scene just before midnight Monday. The victim was taken to a hospital but did not survive.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest after responding to reports of gunfire. Investigators said he was known in the area but did not live at the complex, and police had not released his identity by early Tuesday. A weapon and a large amount of cash were reportedly collected as evidence.
