All Elite Wrestling is bringing its flagship Wednesday night broadcast to the Baltimore area, with AEW Dynamite set to tape live from Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena on the UMBC campus in Catonsville on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026. Headlining the card is women's world champion Kris Statlander, a performer AEW representatives describe as one of the promotion's top stars and who has been ranked among the world's top women wrestlers by both Sports Illustrated and Pro-Wrestling Illustrated.
According to FOX45 News, Statlander debuted in AEW in 2019 at age 24 after training as a Hollywood stuntwoman, a background that fits her billing as one of the women's division's original stars. Doors at the arena open at 6:30 p.m. EDT, with live television production for Dynamite beginning at 7:30 p.m. EDT, per the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena. A Title Reign Built on Overcoming Injury
Statlander's road to the top of AEW's women's division has run through both heartbreak and history. She overcame ACL tears in both legs before making a surprise return at AEW Double or Nothing on May 28, 2023, defeating then-undefeated champion Jade Cargill to win the AEW TBS Championship and end Cargill's 60-match winning streak, according to POST Wrestling. She held that title for 174 days, defending it against opponents including Nyla Rose, Willow Nightingale, Ruby Soho, Skye Blue and Julia Hart before eventually dropping the belt.
Statlander returned to championship gold in September 2025, winning the AEW Women's World Title in a four-way match by defeating Thekla, Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter, per the same account from the station. She has since held the title for nearly five months, defending it against Mina Shirakawa, Mercedes Mone, Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm. That run makes her the first wrestler in AEW history to hold both the TBS Championship and the Women's World Title, a distinction also noted in her biography on Wikipedia.

Wednesday's Dynamite taping marks AEW's return to the Baltimore market roughly seven years after the promotion's inaugural Full Gear pay-per-view drew an estimated 8,500 fans to Royal Farms Arena, now CFG Bank Arena, on November 9, 2019. This time the promotion lands on UMBC's campus at the 172,000-square-foot, $85 million Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena, which opened in February 2018 with a maximum capacity of 5,500 seats for concerts and live shows. The venue was originally known as the UMBC Event Center before entering a 15-year naming rights agreement in 2021 with Chesapeake Employers' Insurance Company, Maryland's largest workers' compensation insurer.
Fans planning to attend should note the arena's strict clear bag policy, which permits clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches, or small clutch purses up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches. Attendees who need mobility accommodations should also plan ahead: upper 200-level sections do not have elevator access, so patrons requiring assistance are directed to purchase designated 100-level ADA seating or floor seats instead.
