Alok packed East Williamsburg's Pacha New York for the North American debut of Rave The World, his new live concept blending electronic music, storytelling and large-scale visuals, and the show sold out. The Brazilian dance music superstar brought the production to Brooklyn as part of a global rollout that has generated international momentum, with Alok having already planned to debut Rave The World in London as well.
According to amNewYork, the Pacha New York set found Alok performing career-defining tracks including “Hear Me Now,” “Work With My Love” and “Deep Down,” with support from Sidepiece, Bhaskar and Inntraw. The show capped a sold-out weekend at the venue that also included a set from Ukrainian duo ARTBAT, who opened with a melodic techno set the night before, plus a performance from Sainte Vie and David Lindmer. Rave The World is presented in partnership with Tomorrowland, and per the outlet's report, Alok said the project is “an invitation to be present and feel together,” drawing on rave culture ideals of community, connection and shared experience.
A Brand Built on Tomorrowland Ties
Rave The World draws directly from Alok's expanding relationship with Tomorrowland. On July 17, Alok launched a new label imprint, Rave The World Records, in partnership with Tomorrowland Music, releasing a four-track EP under the same name, according to Relentless Beats. The EP's title track features voice actor Jim Cummings, the longtime narrator known as the “Voice of Tomorrowland” for 22 years, marking his first-ever vocal feature on an EDM release, as reported by PR Newswire.
Days before the North American debut, Alok released interconnected music visualizers for “Rave The World” and “They Want Your Soul,” filmed in Prague on July 28 to explore thematic arcs around technology and human connection, the same outlet's report notes. The videos arrived as a two-part short film meant to set up the live show's visual storytelling ahead of the Brooklyn stop.
Alok's standing in the industry has been climbing for years. In DJ Mag's 2025 annual Top 100 DJs poll, he reached a career-high ranking of #3 in the world, following four straight years at #4 starting in 2021, according to AllMusic. He is also credited as the first Brazilian recording artist to top 100 million Spotify streams on a single track, thanks to his 2016 breakout hit “Hear Me Now” featuring Zeeba and Bruno Martini — one of the songs he played at Pacha New York.
Brooklyn's Storied Venue Gets a New Name
The Pacha New York show also marked a milestone for the East Williamsburg complex itself, which is establishing itself as a premier home for electronic music and nightlife in New York after reopening earlier in the summer. The venue, long known as the Brooklyn Mirage, went through a dramatic corporate overhaul before Alok's sold-out set could even happen there.
In February, Dubai-based FIVE Holdings and lender Axar Capital formally agreed for FIVE Holdings to take over full operational management of the former Brooklyn Mirage and Great Hall complex, rebranding it as Pacha New York, according to BK Magazine. That takeover followed a rough stretch for the venue's former owner, Avant Gardner, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2025 citing $155.3 million in debt after safety inspection failures and Department of Buildings permit issues kept the open-air venue closed for its entire summer 2025 season, per Resident Advisor. That outlet also reported the complex had already sunk $30 million into offseason renovations before the compliance failures halted operations altogether.
Pacha New York's arrival also marks the Ibiza-born nightlife brand's return to the city a decade after the original Pacha NYC in Hell's Kitchen closed in January 2016 after a ten-year run, according to Time Out. That 30,000-square-foot location at 618 West 46th Street operated from December 2005 through early 2016 before shutting its doors.
Building Momentum Through the Summer
Alok's sold-out weekend didn't happen in isolation — it capped off months of momentum for the reborn venue. Pacha New York kicked off its inaugural summer schedule with a pre-opening weekend in mid-June curated by Keinemusik's Rampa, building toward a season featuring headliners like Michael Bibi, Black Coffee and Vintage Culture, according to BrooklynVegan. That report noted the venue had not hosted music events since October 2024, making its comeback season, and the back-to-back sold-out ARTBAT and Alok shows within it, a significant marker for the site's rebuilding fan trust in East Williamsburg.
For Pacha New York, the ability to draw internationally recognized artists like Alok signals the venue is regaining the kind of pull that made the Brooklyn Mirage a fixture of the city's nightlife scene before its financial troubles. For Alok, the Brooklyn stop is one node in a much larger rollout: before launching Rave The World Records this year, he founded his first independent imprint, Controversia, in June 2019 as a sub-label under Spinnin' Records — a label that has since racked up more than 1 billion Spotify streams across its catalog, according to Forbes. Alok has said New York has a unique energy and connection to dance music culture, and per amNewYork's report, Rave The World is designed to celebrate the roots of rave culture while giving it a modern identity, encouraging audiences to reconnect through music as the concept continues its rollout beyond Brooklyn.
