Atlanta police are looking for two people accused of turning a southeast Atlanta car break-in into a quick credit-card shopping spree. Investigators have released surveillance images and are asking the public to help identify them.
A wallet and a pair of sneakers were reported stolen from a vehicle on Carter Avenue SE after someone called 911 at 8:31 a.m. Wednesday, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. Police say surveillance footage later showed two suspects using the victim’s stolen credit card at a gas station on Flat Shoals Road SE.
Police Offer $5,000 Reward For Information
Authorities have not said exactly when the card was used, how the suspects got into the vehicle or provided physical descriptions beyond the released images. The Atlanta Police Department is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest or indictment.
Anyone who recognizes the people in the photos can contact Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta at 404-577-8477 or submit an anonymous tip online, according to the Atlanta Police Foundation. The public appeal was also detailed by FOX 5 Atlanta, which reported that the investigation remains active.
