A 21-year-old man is dead after being shot outside a northeast Oklahoma City apartment complex, with police now searching for whoever opened fire before dawn Saturday.
Officers found Knowledge Dewayne Johnson lying on a sidewalk outside the complex shortly before 3:10 a.m. Saturday, according to KOCO-TV. Johnson was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police Have Not Announced An Arrest
The shooting happened at an apartment complex on Northeast 11th Street near Walnut Avenue, an area where the overnight scene quickly shifted from emergency response to a homicide investigation. Police have not publicly identified a suspect, announced an arrest or released a possible motive.
The Oklahoma City Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact its homicide tip line at 405-297-1200. The City of Oklahoma City lists that number for homicide tips, while KOCO-TV reported that investigators are seeking help identifying whoever was responsible.
Detectives are expected to continue working to establish what led to the shooting and whether anyone witnessed the gunfire or saw a suspect leave the complex. Additional details may emerge as police interview residents and review evidence from the scene.
