Heat Builds Before The Week Peaks
The latest outlook from the National Weather Service calls for a low near 79 degrees tonight, followed by another jump tomorrow to 102 degrees. Tomorrow’s heat index could reach 106, while highs are expected near 101 Wednesday and 100 Thursday.
The current forecast is a substantive change from the earlier heat-advisory framing in Hoodline’s earlier Dallas forecast: no Heat Advisory is listed for today. The heat is still serious, though, and forecasters expect humidity to increase later in the week, nudging feels-like temperatures closer to advisory territory.
Ozone Alert Adds Another Reason To Ease Up
An Air Quality Alert remains in effect through 6:45 p.m. today, following the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's issuance of an Ozone Action Day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to the National Weather Service alert. Residents can help limit pollution by avoiding unnecessary driving, skipping drive-through lines, conserving energy and postponing strenuous outdoor activity when ozone levels are highest.
Little Rain Relief Until Friday
Dallas should remain sunny and dry through Thursday, with rain chances staying near zero. Friday brings only a 20% chance of showers or thunderstorms after 1 p.m., followed by mostly clear conditions and highs near 98 degrees Saturday and 99 Sunday.
For outdoor plans, the safest window will be early in the day, before the afternoon heat and ozone build. Drink water regularly, take frequent breaks, and bring children, older adults, and pets indoors when conditions become oppressive.
