Five adults were shot Monday morning on Hyde Park Avenue near Webster Street in Boston, and one victim died as police taped off the roadway and began processing a scene marked by more than two dozen evidence markers.
According to WHDH 7News, responding officers found all five victims suffering from gunshot wounds and transported them to local hospitals. One of the victims was later pronounced dead, while the initial report did not provide the surviving victims’ conditions or identify any suspects.
Police Have Not Released A Motive Or Suspect Description
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear. Police have not said whether anyone has been arrested, what may have prompted the gunfire, or whether the victims were targeted.
The shooting follows a separate June 21 incident on Hyde Park Avenue near the Readville Commuter Rail Station that sent one person to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound, according to Hoodline. There is no indication the two shootings are connected, and the latest investigation remains active.
