Boston police are asking for the public’s help locating James Clarke, an 84-year-old Roxbury man with dementia who disappeared after leaving home over the weekend. His regular stops include some of the neighborhood’s busiest transit hubs, stores and bus routes, giving local residents plenty of places to keep an eye out.
Clarke was last seen leaving his residence on Hawthorne Street around 1 p.m. Saturday, according to Boston 25 News. Police say he is a Black man who stands about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs roughly 140 pounds, has short gray hair and a beard, and was last seen wearing a black hat and blue flannel shirt.
Police Say Clarke Frequents Roxbury Transit Stops
Investigators say Clarke is known to visit Nubian Square, Ruggles Station, Stop & Shop locations and various MBTA routes and bus stops. Those details could be especially important for riders, shoppers and workers moving through Roxbury on Monday.

Anyone who knows where Clarke may be or has seen him should call 911 or contact Boston Police detectives at 617-343-2309. Anonymous tips can also be made by calling 1-800-494-TIPS, texting the word “TIP” to CRIME (27463), or using the department’s Crime Stoppers page, which says emergency situations should be reported directly to 911.
