An unidentified person allegedly fired a gun multiple times into the air on a Brooklyn block in broad daylight, then ran toward Bedford Avenue. More than a month later, NYPD Crime Stoppers is asking residents to help identify the person in a fresh public appeal.
At about 11:52 a.m. Friday, July 3, the person allegedly displayed a firearm in front of 11 Linden Boulevard and discharged it multiple times into the air before fleeing on foot toward Bedford Avenue, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers. The public notice does not identify a suspect or report any injuries.
Police Are Offering Up To $3,500 For A Lead
The NYPD Crime Stoppers program says anonymous information that leads to an arrest and indictment of a violent felon may qualify for a reward of up to $3,500, according to the department's Crime Stoppers program page. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or through the program's online tip portal.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the July 3 gunfire to contact Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can also send a direct message to @NYPDTips, and the department says Crime Stoppers submissions are anonymous.
