A woman in her 60s was pronounced dead Saturday in El Paso’s 300 block of Cargill, where police opened a death investigation and detained a man in his 30s for questioning. The area was expected to remain closed for several hours while detectives processed the scene and gathered evidence.
Officer Adrian Cisneros provided the on-scene update in an El Paso Police Department Facebook video. The department said its Crimes Against Persons unit is leading the case and that the investigation remains active.
Police Have Not Released A Cause Of Death
Police did not identify the woman or publicly describe the circumstances surrounding her death. They also did not say whether the man detained for questioning had been arrested, accused of a crime, or remained in custody.
The detention, by itself, does not indicate that charges have been filed. The initial update said only that the man was being questioned while detectives continued to gather evidence.
