Cedric the Entertainer, the comedian and actor behind Barbershop, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and The Original Kings of Comedy, brings his stand-up act to The HALL at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland in Hanover this Sunday. The show is set to begin at 7 p.m.
According to CBS Baltimore, whose report was written by digital content producer Adam Thompson, Cedric said he is excited to come to Maryland for the food and the area's water views. He added that live performance creates an important shared experience in an era dominated by phones, and that he is thrilled to bring people joy and laughter.
A Career Built on Comedy Classics and a Hit Sitcom
Cedric's stand-up credentials trace back decades, including his role in The Original Kings of Comedy alongside film work in Barbershop, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins and Johnson Family Vacation, the same report notes. He arrives in Hanover just months after wrapping his eight-season, 155-episode run on the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood, which he starred in and executive-produced through its finale in May, according to Paramount Press Express.
The comedian's recent accolades include an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series, which he won in 2023 for The Neighborhood and was nominated for again in 2026, according to the Television Academy. His recognition dates back further still: in July 2018, Cedric was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a star in the Live Performance category honoring his 30-year career in show business, as Defender Network reported at the time.
Cedric's mention of good food in Maryland fits with his growing culinary side project. He co-created the docu-series Kings of BBQ with fellow comedian Anthony Anderson, an effort that led to the pair opening their AC Barbeque restaurant in Los Angeles in May 2025, per Broadway.com.

The HALL at Live! spans 75,000 square feet across three stories and seats up to 4,800 guests between its orchestra, loge box, and VIP balcony levels, making it the largest casino theater in Maryland, according to Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland. The venue's built-in stage measures 60 feet wide by 40 feet deep and is surrounded by a $10 million audio-visual system with high-resolution LED screens.
Engineering firm McLaren built the venue by converting an open-air concrete parking deck into a three-story steel superstructure, with the event center officially opening in late December 2019. The HALL anchors a resort that draws more than 10 million visitors annually and includes a 17-story, 310-room hotel tower opened in 2018 that stands as the tallest building in Anne Arundel County, according to the property's own fact sheet.
A Regional Entertainment Hub Beyond the Casino Floor
Since opening in June 2012 through fiscal year 2024, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland and parent company The Cordish Companies have generated more than $222 million in local impact and community grants for Anne Arundel County non-profits and public programs. The HALL has hosted touring comedians including Dave Chappelle, and it's also set to host the fifth annual Baltimore Met Gala's Diana Ross tribute on August 29.
