The 8th Annual Fall Montgomery County Home & Outdoor Living Show sets up at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center in Conroe this month, bringing hundreds of local contractors, landscapers, and pool builders together under one roof for two days of free admission and free parking. The show runs Saturday, August 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, August 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the event fills the venue at 9055 Airport Road with professionals covering pools, patios, outdoor living, flooring, windows and doors, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, roofing and painting, air conditioning and heating, generators, water treatment systems, mosquito control, garage organization, concrete resurfacing, blinds and shutters, and even concealed firearm furnishings. Free Expert Advice and a Radio-Famous Emcee
The show gives homeowners a chance to meet local professionals face-to-face, and this edition brings in some familiar regional voices. Tom Tynan, a home improvement expert and host of Homeshow Radio, is set to appear, alongside Skip Richter, host of Gardenline on KTRH, who will lead gardening presentations and question-and-answer sessions, per the Chronicle's report. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos or samples of plant problems for expert guidance, and the Montgomery County Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer gardening questions and provide recommendations.
Industry names slated to appear include Bryson Janecek, president of Built Green Custom Homes, and Linda Creswell, associated with ShelfGenie of Greater Houston. Deals on the show floor include Molecule Mattress offering $1,500 in show savings on select mattresses and the Aqua Living Factory Outlet running a luxury spa sale.
Shopping, Snacks, and a Kids' Business Market
A Buy It Now aisle rounds out the vendor mix with items ranging from American-made Cutco knives and Lyons Mane beard oil to handcrafted Talavera decor, Heritage 1857 coffee, local honey from Whitman Farms, Lakonia olive oil, farm-fresh pickles, salsas, preserves and vegetables from Farm to Jar, Life's Balance CBD products, and homemade treats from Sweet Grannie Bea's. Saturday only, the Children's Entrepreneur Market will feature more than 40 young business owners selling their own goods, giving families another reason to make it a full day at the expo.

Why Conroe's Home Market Keeps Booming
The expo's return comes as Conroe continues to post some of the fastest growth numbers in the country. The city's population reached an estimated 114,581 residents in 2024, up more than 37% from 91,156 in 2020, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Conroe was also ranked the Houston metro region's No. 1 suburb for growth in 2025 by U-Haul's annual migration analysis, placing 20th nationwide for inbound moves.
That population surge has come with rising household wealth. A SmartAsset study found Conroe ranked 20th nationally for growth in high-income households, with those earning $200,000 or more jumping 59.7% from 3,034 in 2023 to 5,220 in 2024, as Hoodline previously reported. Organizer Texwood Shows, which was founded in 2002 by President Tony Wood and has run live home improvement events across the Houston and Montgomery County markets for more than two decades, reports that 94.1% of attendees at its Montgomery County shows are homeowners, according to promotional data cited by Woodlands Online. That homeowner-heavy audience helps explain why contractors specializing in premium additions like custom saunas and outdoor waterscapes keep showing up twice a year.
Nonprofits Tackle Housing and Animal Welfare Amid the Growth
Alongside the commercial vendors, the show's nonprofit exhibitors are addressing needs created by that same growth spurt. Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County recently completed its 129-home Cedar Creek development in Conroe and broke ground on Marble Creek, an 81-acre master-planned community in nearby Magnolia designed for more than 200 low-income families, per the Houston Chronicle's earlier reporting. Habitat MCTX requires partner families to contribute sweat equity hours and complete homebuyer education classes before moving in.
Operation Pets Alive!, founded in 2010 to make Montgomery County a no-kill community, has processed 796 animal intakes, completed 869 sterilizations, and placed 338 pets through adoptions and transport in the first seven months of 2026, according to City Lifestyle. The all-volunteer rescue group uses expos like this one to recruit foster families and showcase pets available for adoption.
The Lone Star Convention & Expo Center itself is a Montgomery County-owned facility with a 56,000-square-foot main convention building, a 22,300-square-foot ballroom, and a 42,328-square-foot covered open-air pavilion, giving the show plenty of room to spread out its mix of contractors, artisans, and nonprofit booths. Texwood Shows keeps a recurring bi-annual schedule at the venue, having hosted its 2026 spring edition on March 7 and 8 and already setting the 2027 spring show for March 6 and 7.
