The National Weather Service Portland forecast calls for mostly sunny skies Sunday, with light northwest winds and a low near 55°F tonight. Monday jumps to about 87°F, followed by highs near 96°F Tuesday and 98°F Wednesday, making the middle of the week the hottest part of the forecast.
Thursday should still be hot near 94°F before temperatures ease to about 89°F Friday and 85°F Saturday. Overnight lows will fall to around 61°F Monday night and 65°F Tuesday and Wednesday nights, which may provide less relief than usual in the city and nearby inland communities.
Smoke And Fire Weather Concerns Rise With The Heat
Dry air and breezier north winds are expected Monday and Tuesday, and wildfire smoke could drift west from the Cascades into the Portland metro area and nearby foothills. The weather service says elevated fire weather concerns are possible, especially during afternoon and evening hours, although no fire weather watch has been issued.
