A cyber tip about alleged child sexual abuse material on a cloud account has led to the arrest of a 54-year-old Three Points man and 10 felony counts in southern Arizona. The case moved from a digital report to a search warrant and an arrest in less than a week, according to investigators. No victim-identifying details were released.
Arizona Department of Public Safety detectives said they received the tip last Thursday and later seized several electronic devices during a search at a Three Points property. Mark Allen Jackson was arrested last Wednesday near SR-86 and Ajo Highway and booked into Pima County Jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said. The agency identified the charge as a Class 2 felony.
In its Tuesday announcement, AZDPS said the Southern Major Crimes Unit handled the investigation with support from Southern Intel and Highway Patrol District 17. Tucson Police Department’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit also assisted, while Major Erik Axlund said public reporting remains important in protecting children.
From Cyber Tip To Arrest
The sequence described by investigators began when a cyber tip flagged alleged downloading of child sexual abuse material to a cloud account. Detectives then executed a search warrant, collected devices for evidence and located Jackson near a southern Arizona highway intersection. The release did not disclose additional details about the investigation or the evidence.
What Arizona’s Charge Means
Under Arizona law, sexual exploitation of a minor is a Class 2 felony. The statute covers knowingly possessing or electronically transmitting visual depictions in which a minor is engaged in exploitive exhibition or other sexual conduct; the specific evidence in this case has not been made public.
