The best chance for rain comes before 7 a.m. and continues on and off through about 3 p.m., with a 60% chance overall, according to the National Weather Service. Most spots could pick up between a tenth and a quarter-inch of rain, while stronger storms may bring frequent lightning, brief heavy downpours and wind gusts up to 25 mph.
A Drier Break Arrives Monday
Once the front pushes through, skies should clear tonight, with a low near 78 and light west winds. Monday looks sunny with a high around 93, followed by another mostly sunny day Tuesday that could reach 94.
Humidity Returns Later In The Week
Wednesday should remain hot and mostly sunny, with a slight chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm and a high near 93. Rain chances stay limited Thursday and Friday, but deeper Gulf moisture is expected to return, bringing back more humidity and potentially pushing heat-index values toward hazardous levels in some locations.
Saturday carries the highest rain chance of the extended forecast, at about 40%, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible after 7 a.m. Highs should remain near 92 through the weekend, so outdoor plans may get plenty of heat along with the occasional storm interruption.
Boaters Face A Choppier Sunday
Nearby coastal waters remain under Small Craft Advisories into Sunday afternoon and evening. Storms could also bring sudden wind shifts, lightning, heavier waves and sharply reduced visibility, making the Gulf a less forgiving place than the city streets today.
