According to KMBC, officers were responding to a fatal shooting near Agnes Avenue and East 56th Street. The reported scene was near Agnes Avenue and East 56th Street, as noted by KCTV5. Kansas City Parks & Recreation lists the Town Fork Creek Greenway Ball Diamond at E. 57th St. and Agnes Ave.
Police Had Released Few Details Saturday Morning
As of 8:30 a.m., authorities had not publicly released the victim's identity, information about a possible suspect or an account of what led to the gunfire. The early report also did not indicate whether anyone had been arrested.
The shooting remains an active police investigation, and additional details could emerge as officers process the scene and notify the victim's family. KMBC reported that more information had not yet been released Saturday morning.
