A man died Saturday after a single-car crash in North City, with drivers urged to avoid a Broadway intersection while police worked to determine what happened. The crash occurred just north of I-70 during the afternoon. The study area includes approximately 40 miles of I-70.

Police Reconstruction Investigators At Scene
[b3] St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department accident reconstruction investigators were working at the scene Saturday, as reported by KSDK. The department's Accident Reconstruction Unit handles fatal crash investigations in the city.
Drivers were asked to steer clear of the intersection while the investigation continued. Authorities had not announced whether anyone else was hurt, what caused the vehicle to crash, or whether additional details would be released later Saturday.
According to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, 177 people had been killed in Missouri traffic crashes as of Friday, March 29, 2024, a nine percent increase from the same point the previous year. Preliminary data indicated that 954 people were killed in Missouri traffic crashes in 2024, a 4 percent increase from the previous year.
The crash remains under investigation, and the area could continue to see traffic impacts as police document the scene.
