Minneapolis is starting Thursday with light rain, temperatures around 73 degrees and an east wind blowing near 17 mph at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. Showers should ease toward late morning, but the city will stay mostly cloudy before reaching a high near 83 degrees.
Rain Eases Before A Cloudy Afternoon
Scattered showers and a few weak thunderstorms may continue through midday, with rain chances tapering steadily after the morning commute. The National Weather Service says severe weather is not expected, and no watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Minneapolis.
Friday And Saturday Stay Unsettled
Friday brings a partly sunny high near 84 degrees, with a slight chance of rain showers after 4 p.m. Showers become more likely Friday night, with about a 60% chance of rain and possible rainfall totals between a tenth and quarter-inch. Saturday stays mostly cloudy, topping out near 82 degrees, with showers likely before late afternoon and a chance of thunderstorms afterward.
Sunshine Returns Sunday
Sunday looks like the weekend's better outdoor window, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 81 degrees. Monday should be sunny as well, but additional shower and thunderstorm chances return Monday night and continue intermittently through Wednesday, keeping the week active without a forecast for strong storms or heavy rain.
