Weekend Storms Could Bring Gusty Winds And Flooding
Saturday starts mostly sunny before a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms develops after noon. The rain chance rises to 50% Saturday night, while Sunday remains sunny to start with a 20% chance of afternoon storms.
Storms may produce brief heavy rain, gusty outflow winds and localized flash flooding, with the greatest flooding concern in mountain areas. Anyone heading into the foothills or higher terrain should check the latest forecast, avoid crossing flowing water, and be ready for rapidly changing conditions.
Heat Returns Next Week
The pattern turns drier and hotter Monday and Tuesday, with sunny skies and highs near 97 and 98 degrees. Overnight lows will remain in the mid-70s, so early mornings will be the most comfortable window for outdoor chores or exercise.
