A 75-year-old man remains wanted in connection with a Buckhead double murder that happened a quarter-century ago, and federal investigators are still asking whether someone knows where he is. The FBI says Alvin Scott has spent 25 years avoiding prosecution after his estranged wife and her male companion were killed in Atlanta.
Scott is also known as Ahmet Sehsuvar, according to the FBI’s wanted notice. The agency is offering up to $20,000 for information leading to his location and arrest, and says the naturalized U.S. citizen may have traveled to Türkiye, where he was born.
CBS Atlanta reported that the killings occurred on Aug. 3, 2001, in Buckhead. Investigators say both victims were shot numerous times in the torso and head, though authorities have not publicly identified them in the latest appeal.
Old Atlanta Case Still Carries Active Warrants
Atlanta police issued an arrest warrant for Scott on Aug. 4, 2001, one day after the killings, the FBI says. On Aug. 7, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia issued a federal warrant charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
The FBI describes Scott as 6 feet tall and about 170 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. In a warning repeated by CBS Atlanta, investigators say he should be considered armed and dangerous and a possible suicide risk.
Anyone who may know where Scott is can contact a local FBI office or the nearest American embassy or consulate. The FBI’s notice says tips may help authorities locate and arrest a suspect who has remained out of reach since the Buckhead killings in 2001.
