Fog Gives Way To Sunshine
Patchy fog is possible before 8 a.m., especially in spots that held onto overnight moisture. After that, the National Weather Service Twin Cities expects dry conditions, light east-northeast winds around 5 mph and plenty of sun; no watches or warnings are posted.
Monday night turns mostly cloudy, with temperatures settling near 67 degrees. A slight chance of showers arrives after 5 a.m. Tuesday, with a 20% chance of rain overnight.
Storm Chances Return Overnight
Tuesday could bring a few early showers before another mostly sunny afternoon, with a high near 87 and a 40% chance of rain. The better chance for organized overnight storms is south of Minneapolis, but some storms could still bring brief heavy rain, hail or gusty winds in parts of southern Minnesota.
Another round of scattered showers is possible late Tuesday night into early Wednesday, though that round looks weaker. Wednesday should turn mostly sunny after sunrise, with a high near 84 and only a 30% chance of showers.
Cooler Air Arrives Thursday
The pattern shifts noticeably after Wednesday, with highs dropping to around 81 Thursday and 77 Friday. Mostly dry conditions are expected during the day, while rain chances return Friday night and Saturday, when showers and a few thunderstorms could keep outdoor plans on standby.
By the weekend, afternoon temperatures should remain in the mid-70s, followed by a slight shower chance Sunday. In short, Minneapolis gets one more warm, sunny push before cooler air settles in and the forecast turns occasionally damp.
