A restroom fight in Anthony ended with a 56-year-old man hospitalized and a Fresno man behind bars after police say a knife came out during the confrontation Monday evening. The victim, who is from Mexico, suffered several stab wounds but was expected to survive.
According to a report by KFOX14/CBS4, Anthony police officers responded around 5:30 p.m. to a reported assault at 2015 Antonio. Officers found the victim with stab wounds to his lower rear torso, police said.
Investigators identified the suspect as 31-year-old Carlos Adrian Herrera. Police said Herrera assaulted the man in a restroom after an altercation and stabbed him about three times.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, and Anthony police described his injuries as non-life-threatening. Herrera, who police say is from Fresno, California, remains in custody, as reported by KFOX14/CBS4.
Herrera Faces Aggravated Assault Charge
Herrera was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Under Texas Penal Code Section 22.02, aggravated assault includes an assault involving serious bodily injury or the use or exhibition of a deadly weapon.
