Greer’s massive new sports-and-events center now has a corporate name, a medical component and a firm opening target. The city announced Tuesday that Prisma Health will receive naming rights to the 200,000-square-foot facility in a 10-year, $3 million partnership.
According to FOX Carolina, the building will be called the Prisma Health Performance Center. It is planned to include nine basketball courts that can convert into 18 volleyball courts, plus a fitness center, elevated walking track, wrestling room and café. The center is also expected to host youth and adult sports, recreation programs, community events, health education and wellness programming.
Greer’s Sports Complex Will Also House Orthopedic Care
The naming deal gives the project a wellness focus that goes beyond gym floors and tournament weekends. A City of Greer update said construction crews had installed the elevated indoor walking track, completed structural steel and begun pouring the main gymnasium floor by July 9. The facility is also expected to offer an event hall, fitness amenities and golf simulators for everyday community use. The city’s project timeline lists the center’s estimated cost at $60 million and its expected completion in the first quarter of 2027.
Prisma Health orthopedic and rehabilitation services will operate inside the center, which officials say will expand local access to specialized care. Greer Mayor Rick Danner said the health system has cared for generations of Greer families and described the partnership as support for a facility intended to bring residents together, according to FOX Carolina. For Greer, the new name is attached to a project designed to serve both visiting tournament teams and the people who live nearby.
