According to KCUR, Kansas City could experience heat index temperatures surpassing 125 degrees in the next three decades, underscoring the longer-term risk posed by rising heat.
For now, Monday offers a fairly easy transition from clouds to late-summer warmth, while the bigger planning concern is the weekend heat. Those spending long stretches outdoors should keep water, shade and breaks in mind as temperatures move into the 90s.
