PNC Park is giving Pittsburgh youth baseball and softball players a major-league backdrop this week, as the 2026 CitiParks/Pirates Nike RBI Mayor’s Cup brings championship competition to the North Shore. The final baseball group is on deck Tuesday, with the event already in full swing.
According to the City of Pittsburgh’s CitiSports schedule, the championship series opened last Thursday with 14U-18U baseball, shifted to softball Monday, and concludes its scheduled run Tuesday with 10U-12U baseball. The city also posted that the RBI Mayor’s Cup was underway at PNC Park.

Free Championship Baseball At The Ballpark
The tournament gives families a chance to watch local youth teams compete inside the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates without paying for admission, according to the city’s schedule. That makes the Mayor’s Cup an unusually easy sports outing: no ticket hunt, no major-league price tag, and plenty of reasons to cheer for the neighborhood team.
A Pittsburgh Youth Sports Pipeline
The Pirates say their RBI program includes more than 1,500 boys and girls ages 9 to 18, with 83 teams representing more than 20 communities around Pittsburgh, in partnership with CitiSports. Major League Baseball describes Nike RBI, or Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities, as a program focused on expanding participation and diversity in baseball and softball, particularly for underserved communities.
This is not the first time PNC Park has hosted the city’s youth championship showcase. Hoodline previously reported on the 2024 Mayor’s Cup at the ballpark, where free admission and a full slate of local games turned the North Shore into a youth-sports stage.
