
A Monday afternoon collision on U.S. 65 in Benton County sent a woman and three boys to Kansas City-area hospitals by medical helicopter, with the two youngest children in serious condition. The crash unfolded at the Route BB intersection when a turning Dodge Journey crossed into the path of a northbound Ford Explorer.
Left Turn Put Dodge In Path Of Northbound SUV
Per the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 2017 Dodge Journey was traveling southbound on U.S. 65 at about 1:15 p.m. Monday when its driver began turning left onto Route BB. The Dodge entered the path of a northbound 2017 Ford Explorer, which struck the passenger side of the Journey.
Three Boys Flown To Children’s Mercy
KSHB 41 News reported that the boys were 16, 8 and 6 years old. The 8-year-old and 6-year-old were taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in serious condition, while the teenager sustained moderate injuries; the Dodge’s driver was flown to Research Hospital. The Explorer’s driver was not seriously injured, according to the initial account.
