A 41-year-old man is dead, and a 32-year-old woman is injured after a shooting late Tuesday night in the Pikesville/Garrison area of Baltimore County. Officers were called to the 9000 block of Iron Horse Lane around 11:35 p.m., where they found both victims at the scene. Police have released no further information about what led to the violence.
According to WBAL-TV, Baltimore County Police confirmed the double shooting left a man dead and a woman injured, though the department has not detailed the relationship between the two victims or said whether investigators believe they knew each other. The woman's current condition has not been made public, and no arrests or suspect descriptions have been announced as of Wednesday.
The 9000 block of Iron Horse Lane sits at The Courts of Avalon, a 160-unit apartment community off McDonogh Road and Reisterstown Road, per RentCafe listings for the property. The same block has drawn police attention before: in August 2023, it served as the starting point for a reported vehicle theft that touched off a multi-jurisdictional pursuit across Baltimore City and County before ending in Sparrows Point, a chase that involved regional auto theft task force officers and ended with a firearm recovered, according to WBAL-TV footage of the incident.
