A man was fatally shot and another suffered a graze wound Monday afternoon at the Oakmoor Apartments in southwest Houston, near the intersection of Oakmoor Parkway and Airport Boulevard. Houston police said officers responded to the shooting scene shortly before 4:30 p.m. and found one male victim dead and a second man with a minor graze wound.
According to Houston Police, Southwest officers were dispatched to 11900 Oakmoor Parkway after reports of the shooting. As reported by FOX 26 Houston, the incident occurred at the apartment complex located at that address, leaving one man dead at the scene alongside the injured second victim.
As of late Monday afternoon, Houston police had not released suspect descriptions or a clear motive for the shooting, per Click2Houston. HPD homicide detectives were still gathering evidence at the scene as local television crews arrived to observe the investigation, the outlet reported.
A Complex With a Troubled History
The shooting is the latest violent incident at 11900 Oakmoor Parkway, a multi-family residential complex built in 2006 and managed by Asset Living, offering 1-to-3 bedroom units in Houston's 77051 ZIP code near Highway 288 and West Airport Boulevard, according to the property's own listings.
Less than a year ago, on September 1, 2025, 25-year-old Steven Williams was fatally shot in the parking lot of the same address following a verbal argument that spilled out of an apartment unit, according to the City of Houston. HPD charged 35-year-old Demeche Williams with murder in that killing, and Crime Stoppers of Houston issued a fugitive bulletin offering up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest. Earlier in 2025, on March 14, an HPD Southwest Patrol Division officer discharged his weapon at the same complex during a foot pursuit, after a 16-year-old juvenile fleeing a stolen vehicle pulled a handgun on officers, city records show. The juvenile surrendered without injury and was referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation on an aggravated assault charge.
Years of Forced-Entry Shootings at the Same Address
The pattern of violence at 11900 Oakmoor Parkway extends back more than a decade. On January 10, 2021, a 39-year-old woman living in apartment #818 shot an intruder multiple times after he physically assaulted her inside her home and pointed a gun at her, according to the City of Houston. Police did not immediately file charges against the woman.
A decade earlier, on January 12, 2012, a resident at the same complex fatally shot an intruder who had kicked open his apartment door and opened fire, according to city records, prompting a homicide investigation that was referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The 11900 block of Oakmoor Parkway falls within HPD's Southwest Patrol Division, Beat 15E20, which covers roughly 52.2 square miles across southwest Houston and serves more than 217,000 residents, including neighborhoods in Westbury and Central Southwest Houston, per city data.
Investigation Continues
Key questions remain unanswered in Monday's shooting, including whether the victims and shooter knew each other and whether the incident stemmed from a dispute or a home intrusion, consistent with the pattern of violence at the complex. HPD homicide detectives had not identified any suspects as of Monday afternoon.
