The National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen office says scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm could develop late Friday afternoon and evening, with the best chance of rain arriving after about 7 p.m. according to its latest forecast discussion.
Friday night will turn mostly cloudy with a low near 67 degrees and a 30% chance of showers. There are no watches or warnings in effect for Minnesota or Wisconsin in the forecast area.
Saturday Brings More Showers And A Few Storms
Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 82 degrees and a chance of rain showers between 7 and 10 a.m. Showers and thunderstorms could pop up again later in the day, though expected rainfall totals are light at less than a tenth of an inch.
Another round of showers and thunderstorms is possible Saturday evening, mainly between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. Winds will shift from the south-southeast during the day to the west-northwest at night, generally running 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday And Monday Turn Drier
Sunday looks mostly sunny with a high near 81 degrees, followed by a cooler and mostly clear night with a low around 62. Monday should bring the sunniest conditions of the early week, with temperatures climbing back to about 82 degrees.
The unsettled pattern returns Monday night into Tuesday, when showers and thunderstorms become likely and remain possible into Wednesday. Temperatures should stay close to typical mid-August levels, with highs near 82 degrees Tuesday and 77 degrees Wednesday.
