More than 100 classic and modern vehicles will roll into the Warren Theatre parking lot in Moore this Saturday for the seventh annual Moore Cars for Moore Kids car show, a free community event packed with vendors, live music and a lineup of Jeeps, Corvettes and motorcycles. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 15, with vehicle registration opening at 7:30 a.m., and general admission is free for spectators.
The event is hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Moore, and as reported by News 9, organizers say this year's fundraising has already outpaced every previous edition of the show. Don Motley, who is affiliated with the Kiwanis Club of Moore, told the outlet the show is now in its seventh year and has raised more than $13,000 heading into this weekend's event. That momentum is buoyed by Gold Star Coffee, the event's first-ever title sponsor, whose owner Warren Stowe said supporting the car show fits the company's focus on giving back to the community, per the same News 9 report.
Beyond the vehicle displays, more than 30 vendors will set up booths offering freeze-dried candy, candles and informational tables, while Playground Outlaws is bringing vehicles and activities aimed at kids. First United will serve free hot dogs and hamburgers throughout the morning, and organizers have added live music to this year's lineup with a performance from the 2nd Chance Band, according to Moore Monthly.
Trophies, Cash Prizes and a Growing Crowd
Car enthusiasts will be competing for trophies and cash prizes across 20 vehicle categories, with awards spanning custom paint, engine builds, interior work and kids' choice selections, plus a $200 cash prize for Best in Show, according to CarCruiseFinder.com. The Warren Theatre location itself has become a fitting stage for the crowds: the venue is a 17-screen cinema multiplex with IMAX facilities along the Interstate 35 corridor, and its expansive parking area can accommodate more than 100 display vehicles alongside vendor booths.
Attendance has grown steadily since the show's founding. In 2022, the event recorded a turnout benchmark of more than 190 registered vehicles at the Regal Warren venue, according to the Kiwanis Club of Moore. Vehicle entry registration this year costs $30 on the morning of the show, a fee that, along with sponsor contributions, generates the bulk of the event's charity funds.
Where the Money Goes
Proceeds from Saturday's show will benefit the Children's Miracle Network, Impact — which involves the Moore Fire and Police Departments — and the Children's Health Foundation. Since its founding in 2017, the Kiwanis Club of Moore has raised more than $60,000 to assist local youth and support statewide pediatric care through the Children's Health Foundation, and the club has focused its broader charitable work on youth health, nutrition, literacy and clothing needs across Cleveland County.
Part of that impact stays hyper-local. Event proceeds also directly fund Moore Central Elementary School's Bringing Up Grades program, which awards bicycles to students who improve their academic marks, and Kiwanis leaders have said they aim to expand that grade-incentive program across all Moore elementary schools within five years. The club also sponsors Service Leadership Programs, including a Key Club at Southmoore High School and a Circle K International chapter at Oklahoma City University, extending its youth volunteer pipeline from elementary students into college.
A Statewide Pediatric Push
The Children's Health Foundation, one of the show's chief beneficiaries, has raised more than $142 million to support 18 specialized pediatric research areas across Oklahoma, including childhood cancer, cardiology and neonatology, with funds supporting care at facilities including OU Health Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City.
