A man died Sunday morning after someone dropped him off at a South Side hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest, leaving Chicago police without a confirmed shooting scene. The victim's age was not immediately known.
According to ABC7 Chicago, officers said the man was brought to St. Bernard Hospital around 5:40 a.m. near 64th Street and Yale Avenue. He died at the hospital after suffering the chest wound.
Police Still Do Not Know Where The Shooting Happened
Investigators had not identified where the shooting took place, and the initial report did not include a suspect description, possible motive or arrest information. Police also had not said who brought the victim to the hospital.
St. Bernard Hospital lists its facility at 326 W. 64th Street, according to the hospital's official contact page. No further information was immediately available as the investigation continued Sunday.
