Breezy Saturday Gives Way To A Calm Sunday
North winds will run 8 to 15 mph Saturday and could gust as high as 23 mph, while rain chances remain at zero. Saturday night should be clear and cooler, with a low near 69, followed by another sunny day Sunday with a high near 92 and lighter winds.
The National Weather Service in Norman says dry conditions are expected through Monday night. That makes the weekend the more comfortable window for outdoor plans before the heat turns up again.
Triple-Digit Heat Arrives Tuesday
Monday will climb to around 98 degrees, and Tuesday is forecast to reach 101 under sunny skies. Mostly sunny and hot conditions continue Wednesday through Friday, with highs near 100, 100 and 99 degrees, respectively.
Rain is unlikely through the week, with only a slight chance of showers or storms late Tuesday, mainly over northwest Oklahoma. As southerly winds return, heat-index readings near 105 degrees are expected to become more common by the end of next week, so shift strenuous outdoor work toward the morning or evening and keep water close.
