A central Oklahoma drug investigation has produced a nearly 75-pound narcotics haul, four guns, more than $228,000 in suspected drug proceeds and an arrest, according to state narcotics officials. The seized drugs included cocaine, methamphetamine, Xanax, Adderall and 43 pounds of mushrooms.
According to KOCO-TV, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Anti-Meth Task Force developed information in June about a high-value target allegedly capable of distributing trafficking quantities across the Oklahoma City metro. Agents later executed a search warrant and took the investigation's main target into custody, while officials said more arrests are expected.
One Search Warrant, A Massive Mixed Drug Haul
The reported seizure included 13 pounds of cocaine, three pounds of methamphetamine, 14.6 pounds of Xanax, one pound of Adderall and 43 pounds of mushrooms. The haul totaled roughly 74.6 pounds across five drug categories, not counting the cash and firearms, according to the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.
OBN Director Donnie Anderson said the intercepted narcotics could have put thousands of lives at risk if the shipments had reached the streets. The mix of bulk drugs, cash and guns matches the bureau's description of a trafficking-scale operation rather than a small, street-level case.
Another Large Central Oklahoma Seizure
The bust comes only weeks after agents reported seizing about 15 pounds of methamphetamine in a separate central Oklahoma investigation. Together, the cases highlight OBN's recent focus on intercepting large drug shipments before they move farther through the state. The latest investigation also reflects the increasingly varied mix of narcotics agents say they are encountering in the Oklahoma City metro.
OBN Has Warned Cocaine Is Resurging
In its 2024 Drug Threat Assessment, the bureau described cocaine as a resurgent problem in Oklahoma and reported a 48% increase in fatal overdoses involving cocaine over the preceding five years. Methamphetamine remains one of the state's most serious illicit drug threats, making a seizure containing both drugs especially significant.
The initial report did not identify the person taken into custody or list formal charges. OBN said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests are anticipated, so the case could grow as agents review evidence and pursue other people connected to the alleged distribution network.
