Heat Advisory Runs Noon To 8 P.M.
A Heat Advisory is in effect from noon to 8 p.m. CDT Saturday as dangerous heat builds across the region. The National Weather Service says heat-index values could reach 107°F, advising residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioning, avoid direct sun and check on relatives and neighbors.
Hot Nights Keep The Heat Going
Saturday night will stay clear with a low near 78°F, and Sunday returns to 102°F with heat-index values around 105°F. Monday and Tuesday remain sunny with highs near 100°F and 101°F, while overnight lows hover around 79°F to 80°F. South to south-southwest winds will increase to roughly 8 to 14 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph Sunday night.
Small Rain Chance Finally Appears Late Week
Wednesday brings another 102°F high, while Thursday remains mostly sunny near 101°F with only a 12% chance of rain. Friday is the first notable shift, with a high near 98°F and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. The NWS Norman forecast discussion says rain and cooler temperatures could arrive across the central Plains late next week, though the timing remains uncertain.
