The National Weather Service expects Saturday's high to be in the upper 80s to mid-90s, with south winds of 8 to 12 mph and gusts up to 22 mph. Saturday night will remain mild.
Heat Builds Into Next Week
Sunday is forecast to hit 98 degrees, followed by mid- to upper-90s through next week, with only small rain chances.
The weather service says heat index values could range from 95 to 105 degrees Sunday through next week, with the highest readings more likely Wednesday and Thursday as humidity increases. A prior Hoodline forecast flagged the weekend warmup, but the latest outlook points to a longer run of potentially hazardous heat.

Rain is not expected to be the main story for Kansas City through Thursday. The National Weather Service forecasts 15% to 25% nighttime precipitation chances across far northern Missouri from Sunday night through Wednesday night.
